In China, physical delivery of digital content is not easily replaced

Like other fast-developing economies in Asia, China skipped much of the land telephone line infrastructure investments that other countries spent decades deploying and moved almost directly to mobile infrastructure.

One might expect a similar “leapfrog” approach for digital content delivery infrastructure. But that’s not what’s happening when it comes to distributing digital medical records. Medical images are now making house calls

The FDA has approved an app for iPads and iPhones for viewing medical images. The Army is looking closely at similar apps for iOS and Android devices. It’s less about making things easy for doctors and more about speeding up their ability to make diagnoses.
