Developer – Web (Java), Portal and SAP BW

Provide critical technology support on projects and post-production primarily focused on Rimage’s web environment. To participate in software development efforts and support the Rimage Web, Enterprise Portal and Business Warehouse (BW) reporting environments. Design, develop, document, implement and support web development for critical applications following current J2EE standards and develop software components using technologies such as Java and web services. Work with the business and technology teams to define requirements, develop, implement and support business critical initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Customer Relationship Management: Act as the liaison to and advocate for various business areas from the IT organization. Partner with the other areas of IT to ensure effective solutions are implemented globally. Interface with the business analysts to determine most efficienct cost–effective approach to meet business requirements. Work with Rimage business teams and 3rd party providers on web site and web shop integration enhancements initiatives.
  • Project Planning: Assist in and partner with business and technology teams in the planning for the SAP BW, Portal and Web initiatives, including scope definition, hardware and software requirements, project estimates and timelines, issues, risks and mitigations.
  • Development and Support: In partnership with the business and other technology teams, actively coordinate, develop, implement and support the successful execution of web, portal and BW reporting initiatives. This includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Work with the business and technical team on portal, web and report requirements.
    • Analyze, communicate and resolve complex issues related to the portal, web and reporting including data integrity, data design, functional and technical design and/or coding.
    • Deliver the technical side of business solutions using Rimage’s SAP Business Warehouse (BW) application tools along with other web development technologies.
    • Work from functional/technical specifications to develop web, portal and BW solutions using Java/J2EE, HTML, Javascript, CSS, ABAP and other web technologies.
    • Develop and maintain SAP BW queries using SAP tools such as Query Designer and Business Explorer (BEx).
    • Provide Level II support for the web, portal and SAP BW environments
    • Provide on-call support as needed.


Minimum Requirements

 
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years Java/J2EE with strong Object-Oriented design experience a must.
  • 3+ years web development experience including HTML and JavaScript.
  • 1+ years experience with SAP BW Business Explorer Analyzer (BEx), SAP BW Web Query development, and SAP ECC is beneficial.
  • 1+ year ABAP development desirable.
  • Experience in design and development of Java/J2EE web applications in client/server environment, including developing presentation layers using JSPs, HTML, Javascript, Struts, design pattern, etc.
  • Experience in SQL Server.
  • Willingness to learn and become proficient in new technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with others to successfully develop and implement related tasks.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment, tact, and a clear purpose while under pressure in a very dynamic environment.
  • Strong customer relationship skills, strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Video Systems Senior Software Engineer

You engage in developing video software solutions from conceptualization to delivery. You work closely with marketing in defining solution features and requirements, and you work with engineering to develop the architecture and specifications for the solution. Your job responsibility spans project planning and leading development team to execute on schedule while ensuring product quality and feature completeness. You provide technical vision on emerging technology trends and tactical guidance on project issues to the management team.

Core Responsibilities

  1. As a member of the software development team, enable successful project execution.
  2. Develop video software tools and components required to support Rimage product roadmap.
  3. Provide field training and debug as necessary to accelerate customer qualification.
  4. Provide guidance to management on video technology trends and their implications to Rimage business and product roadmap.
  5. With the correct experience, take on the responsibility of project lead from start to finish.
  6. As project lead, work closely with marketing to define solution features and requirements.
  7. As project lead, maintain project plans, lead technical team, and ensure execution to project plans.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSCS, BSEE, BSCE) from a four year college or university is required. Master’s in Computer Science or related field is preferred. Related work experience is desirable.
  • Comprehensive understanding of elements of digital video storage (e.g. bit rate, color spaces, frame sizes, interlacing, etc.).
  • Comprehensive understanding of file-based video formats.
  • Understanding of image & video compression algorithms.
  • Experience in programming encoding and trans-coding engines.
  • Experience programming and integrating commercially available editing & authoring programs.
  • Experience in generating cross-platform streaming video content.
  • Proficiency with software languages such as C#/.NET, C/C++, and Java.
  • Familiarity with programming platforms such as DirectShow, AVISynth, etc. is preferred. Video experience in handheld devices is desired.

Web Master

As part of a cross-functional web team, the Web Master will partner with web team members, catalog and product writers and other leaders in the company to develop content in a collaborative environment. The Web Master is responsible for publishing all of the content for the website and online marketing efforts and assists in the development and creation of digital marketing content.

Essential Functions

  • Create product and promotional copy for all website and online marketing efforts including repurposed content and original writing.
  • Utilize and administer the company’s content management system to stage and publish content across web properties.
  • Actively participate and contribute to web team's creativity, efficiency and accomplishment of broad goals and policies identified by the strategic web team.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of company’s website and other online presence.
  • Provides leadership of functional web team and individual projects, schedules and priorities.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience with proven web writing and editing skills, including product descriptions and promotional copy.
  • A minimum two year degree, a four or technical writing degree a plus.
  • Technical experience: Knowledge of web usability standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of web content management systems (CMS), experience using Joomla CMS a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple assignments and tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Must be skilled in interpersonal relationship management to effectively work with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging and collaborative work environment.
  • Work experience a plus.
