Position Summary

A Professional Services Project Manager is a position that requires an established track record of understanding and integrating complex IT strategies while managing and exceeding customers' expectations. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, creative, a good communicator, thrives in implementing software for mission critical applications within complex infrastructure, and is excited about opportunity to work in the rapidly growing market of Enterprise Video Communications.

Responsibilities

• Regular travel throughout the assigned territory is anticipated. Up to 50%
• Management of multiple projects simultaneously
• Lead Project Kickoff and Project Planning efforts with Customer and internal Qumu resources
• Work with Qumu technical consultants to determine the best technical solution and implementation plan for the Customer
• Creation of key project documents and working with Customer to gain approval
• Manage customer expectations and project deliverables while effectively communicating and working with other Qumu team members
• Project issues management and escalation
• Schedule and lead project status calls
• Project status reporting
• Deliver classroom training to Customers to educate them on the use of Qumu products
• Professionally represent Qumu by demonstrating technical, leadership and management capabilities with strategic customers and partners

• Reports to the Professional Services Manager

Desired Skills

• Experience in managing and delivering enterprise software deployments and support to large Global 2000 customers
• A track record as a successful Project Manager
• Experience using Project Management tools for managing project tasks, project artifacts, project collaboration, project scheduling, and project time tracking
• Ability to manage and understand project profitability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of streaming media technologies, CDN’s encoders, decoders, and multimedia video formats is a very strong plus

Education / Experience

• BS in a technical field (i.e. Computer Science or equivalent)
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in technology / consulting / software industry

4. Experience with video application development on the desktop platform. Understanding of media frameworks, codec architectures, graphics engines, streaming protocols, and HTML5 standards.

 

Educational requirements and Competencies:

1. 4+ years of solid experience in building rich, state of the art, applications on desktop and browser platforms.
2. Strong CS fundamentals, mastery in Object Oriented programming, experience with web and cross-browser technologies.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Superior analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
4. Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline.
