Rimage 8.0 Disc Publishing Software Simplifies Integration, Enables Innovation

New platform includes Rimage Video Protect copy control process - 01/31/2008
LAS VEGAS (PMA) - Jan. 31, 2008 - Rimage Corporation (Nasdaq: RIMG)
today announced the version 8.0 release of its Rimage Software Suite, the
company's most comprehensive disc publishing software package to date.
The 8.0 platform includes major innovations, such as a new messaging server,
disc spanning capabilities, Blu-ray DiscTM support and Rimage Video Protect, an
anti-rip application with unmatched playback compatibility.

"This version of the Rimage software suite is a broader and deeper platform from
which our customers and partners can deliver rich and powerful new
applications," said Manny Almeida, executive vice president for sales and
marketing for Rimage.

Rimage has refined the core of its software to be more responsive to a wider
range of workflows, so customers can enjoy seamless integration of publishing,
recording and printing operations within their own infrastructure. The full-featured
Rimage Software Development Kit (SDK) further simplifies coordination with third
party and user-developed software, allowing a more tightly integrated work
process.

"With the Rimage Rapid Application Programming Interface (API), our customers
can author and implement software enhancements that allow them to do things
they couldn't do before," said Tom Sherman, director of product management for
Rimage. "The Rimage SDK and Rapid API empower our partners to implement a
custom disc publishing operation that can share data with multiple local or
remote users and systems simultaneously, giving our partners more control over
the process."

Rimage Video Protect - Now Shipping with Rimage 8.0 Software
Rimage's turnkey anti-rip application, Rimage Video Protect, is also part of the
new 8.0 software release. Rimage Video Protect inhibits ripping and disc copying
software, not playback devices, from performing as intended, ensuring excellent
playback compatibility. The seamless integration of Rimage Video Protect into
the Rimage system allows content producers to protect revenue and distribution
plans without changing workflow processes or compromising deadlines.

"As a small company, protecting the content we produce is essential to our
success," said Jeff Andrews, operations manager for Star Thrower Distribution,
which produces leadership training and development DVDs. "Rimage Video
Protect is seamlessly integrated into our workflow, with a simple clickbox
interface that eliminates the need for a separate copy protection process."
As a passive software solution, Rimage Video Protect encapsulates data files on
a DVD disc, causing access to the content by common ripping programs to be
controlled. The original media content is not modified; rather, copy controls are
written in areas of the disc that are not read during playback.

"We are excited about the increased performance and reliability of Rimage
software version 8.0," Almeida said. "This new platform is designed with our
customers and channel partners in mind. Now Rimage users have more control
over operation and results, as disc production is more easily accomplished inhouse
- across a single office or a global network - using a Rimage system."

The version 8.0 software package with Rimage Video Protect is available now.
