Rimage Helps Momentum Worldwide Create Profit Center by Bringing CD/DVD Production In-House

11/14/2006
MINNEAPOLIS - Rimage Corporation (Nasdaq:RIMG - News) today announced Momentum Worldwide, a global event, promotion, retail and sponsorship marketing firm, turned its use of a Rimage disc publishing solution into a profit center within just three months of bringing its production of CDs and DVDs in-house.

Momentum produces up to 40,000 CDs and DVDs per year containing digital content, including everything from the videos of events it plans and coordinates for its clients, to client presentations and internal training videos. In the past, Momentum outsourced all of its disc production needs.

Momentum has reduced its disc publishing costs by 75 percent and will generate substantial new revenue this year using a Rimage disc publishing solution.

"We reached a point where it made sense from a cost control standpoint to evaluate bringing things in-house," said Doug Pierce, worldwide director of IT for Momentum. "When you outsource this type of operation, you deal with more than just the hard costs of discs, cases and shipping. You also must contend with the time spent managing the flow of content and the overall relationship with an outside company. With the significant drop in price we've experienced by bringing disc publishing in-house with Rimage, we are able to reduce costs for our clients and still make a profit."

Momentum is not the only company bringing disc publishing closer to home. As business proposals and documents continue to include more rich media -- such as graphics, videos and ROI calculators -- organizations of all sizes are turning to discs rather than paper as their output solution. Furthering this trend, today's disc publishing technology makes managing CD/DVD/Blu-ray (BD) production as easy as using a networked printer or copier.

"We've noticed a significant increase in businesses taking advantage of the improved accessibility and reduced labor and shipping costs that in-house disc publishing offers," said Manny Almeida, chief operating officer for Rimage. "We foresee this movement continuing to increase as companies produce more and more digital content and begin to evaluate their disc production needs against outsourcing costs."

Rimage's family disc publishing systems are the industry's highest-performing, most reliable solutions for automatically creating professional CDs/ DVDs/BDs with customized digital content and direct-to-disc labels. Rimage systems combine the best in robotics, workflow and production capabilities, and print technologies for self-sustaining solutions enterprises can depend on for professional, custom CD/DVD/BD production and 24/7 reliability.
