SUPPORT

Label has a thin vertical line that is not printing.

Cause

The Prism printhead may be dirty or malfunctioning. Printheads fail from:

  • Excessively high printstrobe
  • Discs popping loose from the holding pins

Procedures

  1. Clean the printhead first. Directions are located in the Prism Printer User Guide.
  2. Set the printstrobe to the lowest microsecond setting that produces the best results.
  3. If discs are popping off the holding pins, the discs may have something on the outside edge causing the problem.
    • Look for lacquer or something that makes a slanted edge. A slanted edge allows the discs to slip off the holding pins.
    • Look for a clean and straight vertical edge on the outside edge of the disc. If the disc has a slanted edge, use another brand of media.
